Mary Porcello has been writing poetry for over twenty years. She first began to write after having lost a child as a way to fight off depression. Then in ‘99, having her husband pass away, she began to write even more. Sitting closely with the Lord to hear His voice, Mary began working with the homeless which drew more inspiration for her writings. As she continued to seek the Lord, He kept growing her desire to write. When asked about her poetry Mary will say, “very humbly I hear His voice, from Him comes the words.” Sometimes she will receive a call or someone will stop by in need of prayer and from there the writing flows. Mary will often cry out to the Lord asking which way to go. He fills her mind with His beauty which leads to the poems in this book.

I received this book as a present and I am thrilled! The devotional are short and powerful....exactly what I need to jumpstart my day! I text the messages in a devotional text chain to my friends and they love it too! Love you, Mary...you have a gift!
I am blessed to know Mary Porcello personally and her devotions couldn't be more heartfelt. The writing is raw and inspiring, influenced by her life experiences and relationship with God. Her personality shines through and gives hope and understanding of The Lord's graces. Mary has gotten me through some of my hardest times and a daily dose of her writings helps remind me to stay humble and grateful. I highly recommend this book!!!
I have been extremely fortunate to know Mary now for quite a number of years and have always known her heart when it comes to our Lord Jesus Christ. So neither my wife or myself are surprised by this gathering of special original poems one for each day of the year with one to spare. With Mary's help over the years I have developed a tighter bond with our Lord and realize that through life we experience our share of joys as well as pain, it's through all of this that Mary shares with us all some vey special readings to help us get through those character building moments we all seem to have.

What a wonderful work! I love the daily format. Each day brings a new devotional poem for reflection and makes a great start to the day. As I read more and more, I find myself reaching out by topics as well. I am particularly drawn to the April 24 entry entitled Steadfast. Each of us has our own difficulties and this particular poem reminds me we are not alone. I would be remiss if I did not add that I tear up every time I read the back cover. You let us feel the strength you derived from your sadness. Well done, Mary Porcello!
Mary's journey of faith has intersected with mine through both joys and sorrows. I served as her pastor and remain as her friend and brother in Christ. How rewarding it is to see her labor of love through poetic verse be seen in the form of a daily "morning salute" to the Lord! After many years of reading Mary's witty and heart-felt poetry, it makes me nod and smile to hold a copy of "Good Morning, Lord". She covers the gamut of human emotion and offers them to us as our language of prayer and surrender to God's ways which indeed are higher than ours. I highly recommend this first publication of Mary Porcello!!
